At the LTA’s Play Tennis Zone near Court 12 you can take part in activities including interactive tennis games and competitions to win prizes, or simply chat to friendly and knowledgeable LTA representatives about how to get more involved in British Tennis.
The relationship between Wimbledon and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) dates back to the formation of the governing body in 1888, at which point the All England Club passed over the guardianship of the national game.
Funds generated by The Championships, are used by the LTA to develop tennis in Great Britain.

The Aegon summer tennis tournaments represent the start of the British grass court season, when the players come off the clay and start their preparations for the Championships, Wimbledon. In 2016, the events welcomed some of the best player fields in history and continue to provide the ideal opportunity to watch world-class players close up.

In 2017 the Aegon Open Nottingham will see some exciting changes with top international women’s and men’s tennis joining together to grace the pristine courts at the Nottingham Tennis Centre during one week of explosive grass court action.
The existing WTA International tournament will be joined by a men’s ATP Challenger Tour event, giving tennis fans of Nottingham the chance to see top male and female players in action in the same week.
2016 saw some of the greatest players in the world take to the grass courts of Nottingham and next year promises to be even more exciting as the tournament goes from strength to strength.
In 2016 15 of the World’s top 30 female players confirmed their attendance, making up the best player field in the tournament’s 35 year history. 2017 promises to be no different, so get up close to the action on court, as the stars of women’s tennis finalise their grass court preparations at this prestigious Premier level tournament.
2017 sees a significant and exciting change to the Aegon International Eastbourne, when the men’s ATP 250 event will once again return to the grass courts of Devonshire Park and combine with the women’s WTA Premier event, creating a fantastic tournament staged across nine days of explosive on court action.
